We were very fortunate to catch up with Dr. Carol Mathews, who is the Brooke Professor and the Vice Chair for Strategic Development in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida.

Dr. Mathews is the Director of the Center for OCD, Anxiety, and Related Disorders at UF. Her research and clinical interests center around identifying the causes and neural underpinnings of obsessive compulsive and anxiety spectrum disorders, including OCD, hoarding disorder, tic disorders, and grooming disorders.

We recently published a chapter of her latest book in the November issue of The Science of Psychotherapy and wanted to talk to her about her work in this very interesting area.
